Not For the "Faint" of Heart

Naomi's 6 chin stitches
Nomi and Selah took swim lessons at the YMCA for the first two weeks of summer, and made great progress by the way. Near the end of the second week, Nom jumped in too close to the wall and cracked her chin open. I'd like to say that I was solid as a rock for my child, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I passed out! So, two different ERs and 3 stitches later we were back in business.
We all stayed out of the water for a week to support Nom and let things heal. Stitches were removed last Monday, we were back in the water on Tuesday and BAM...wound reopened. (Notice the other red line parallel to the stitches.) I managed to stay vertical this time but Matt had to be the parent to accompany her to the ER again. This time she came home with six sutures.
Stitches came out this morning but the wound wasn't totally healed so they glued it. Hoping to be back in the water by the end of the week and out of the ER for many years!

Not for the feint of heart! Right? I never passed out during the emergency and was as strong as a rock, and then upon leaving the ER would dissolve into tears. Marty caused me so many ER trips that I cannot count them, and they would be sometimes twice a week. One time when the principal called me for the second time that week for him (Jennifer had also been in the ER that week)I asked him if he would take him but use his name as I was sure we would be investigated. Didn't happen though. I guess when a child runs fast first into the outside of the school brick wall they don't blame the parent. I hear congrats are in order again. My hope is that you get a boy this time so Matt will have an alliance. Hope to see all of you soon. Jo

I will testify that the trips to the ER are an inherited trait. Mom was a regular!
