Getting all my girls together in a photo is rare these days.

Not For the "Faint" of Heart

Naomi's 6 chin stitches

Nomi and Selah took swim lessons at the YMCA for the first two weeks of summer, and made great progress by the way. Near the end of the second week, Nom jumped in too close to the wall and cracked her chin open. I'd like to say that I was solid as a rock for my child, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I passed out! So, two different ERs and 3 stitches later we were back in business.

We all stayed out of the water for a week to support Nom and let things heal. Stitches were removed last Monday, we were back in the water on Tuesday and BAM...wound reopened. (Notice the other red line parallel to the stitches.) I managed to stay vertical this time but Matt had to be the parent to accompany her to the ER again. This time she came home with six sutures.

Stitches came out this morning but the wound wasn't totally healed so they glued it. Hoping to be back in the water by the end of the week and out of the ER for many years!

A Highlight

Our Menu: Wishing Well Pasta, True Love's Kiss Cups and Salt-free Floats.

This week has been an especially challenging one with the girls. I think it's a combination of ages, stages and lots of time together. However, there have been highlights...like outings with friends and family, and the princess themed dinner pictured above. Nomi and Selah chose the menu from a princess cookbook, we made a grocery run for last minute necessities and voila, a perfect girlie dinner. The best part; they ate every bite.

Goodbye Kindergarten

Naomi & Mrs. Anders

It's been a fantastic year for Nom. She loved school, loved her friends, adored her teacher and is chomping at the bit to get back and begin first grade...her last day was yesterday. I'm beyond thankful for Mrs. Anders who has encouraged, nurtured, taught independence and deepened Naomi's love for learning.
