Advent

Naomi and I spent the afternoon making our very own advent calendar. For some reason I haven't been in the Christmas spirit yet this year, but hanging stockings and creating this calendar definitely helped. Yes, this sounds rosy and wonderful (and it was once we got into it), but it followed a challenging morning full of whining, complaining, defiance, tears and cleaning food off the floor for the thousandth time.

Nom picked out the iconic symbols of Christmas, we cut them out, decorated some, numbered them from 1 to 24 and hung them on some ribbon with clothes pins. We then compiled a list of twenty four things we'd like to do in December to help us celebrate the season. Our list ranges from listening to Christmas music and making snowflakes to taking a gift to a neighbor. I'm hopeful that we all enjoy the month and that this becomes a yearly Chandler tradition.

She's One!

Happy Birthday, Mirabel!

I thought it was just last week that I was in the hospital having this miraculous, beautiful baby and, voila, you're one. What a joy you are to our family...sleepless nights and all. We love you, Belly and are so thankful for you in our life!

Team Hollingsworth Visit

Get ready for a bunch of restaurant links.

We enjoyed hosting our great friends Adam, Katherine and Alice this weekend. An eventful few days included dinner at Nada, a trip to the zoo, lunch at Melt, trick-or-treating, some Settlers of Catan and, of course, the National Exemplar, Montgomery Inn and Graeter's. Sheesh, we like to eat.
