Mira's First Park Visit

It was 53°F today in Cincinnati.
In addition to the see-saw, Mira enjoyed the slide and (especially) the tire swing.

Voyage to Peking

Apparently, you can go back again (and have the restaurant to yourself).
It's rare, but sometimes things are exactly as you remember them. Take Ashland's own Peking Restaurant, for example. It'd been more than a decade since I'd been there, but this little family-owned spot never lost its place in my heart as the gold standard by which all other Chinese restaurants were measured. Growing up, we ate here (at least) weekly. In retrospect, I realize those visits comprised my first exposures to ethnic foods of any kind. (In Ashland, in the '80s, this was exotic, after all.)
Thankfully, absolutely nothing has changed. Every detail, right down to the hand-written Sunday buffet menu in the window, is exactly the same as it was on my last visit. Sure, the place looks as forlorn as it must have 20 years ago, but the Hot & Sour Soup and Cashew Chicken were just as delicious as I'd remembered.
Feichang xiexie, Peking Restaurant.

Paper Chain Garland

This craft kept a few of us occupied for a good forty-five minutes the other day. Can you guess who wasn't entertained but instead was our entertainer?

The Decorations Are Up

And the decorators are excited.
It's getting Christmassy up in here. The stockings are hung and the tree is up.
