The Invasion
Now just imagine seeing this on every tree, everywhere you look from the base of the trunk to the tops of the branches. They are everywhere! Have I mentioned how excited I am to head to Ashland for a week?

Our Girls
I love this picture of the girls! Aren't they beauties? And, we will be adding another beauty to our family in the fall...that's right, we're having another girl. Here's our first picture of one of her arms and ultra long legs.

Cicada Summer
They're here.
Every seventeen years these critters crawl out of the ground at the same time and dominate the summer. They're strange and a little annoying (as the sidewalks in our neighborhood are littered with them), but there's something pretty amazing about their impeccably odd timing.
Their cycle evokes a certain nostalgia in folks who grew up in areas that experience the phenomenon: Cal remembers swatting them on the way home from the bus stop after school, and that she couldn't wait to escape to her Grandma's (cicada-free) house in Toledo for the summer.
Naomi's having fun picking them up by their wings. She'll be 20 when this brood returns. I wonder if she'll still pick them up.

Summer's Coming
I can tell because we had corn on the cob and watermelon for dinner.
In other news, I took these photos (and a few others) with my new camera, an anniversary/ birthday/ early Father's Day gift from Cal and our parents. Thanks to all who helped with the research and financing to surprise me with this, something I've wanted for a long time. I promise to keep the photos coming.

Reunion Weekend

What a Kid!
Naomi LOVES to play dress up! We normally expect to see her coming down the steps in full princess attire - dress, glass slippers, tiara and jewels. This outfit, however, was totally unexpected and too hilarious not to share! After we had a good laugh she insisted on going outside to proudly show it off to all of our neighbors.

Disney World
We just got back from Disney World, and all we got you were these photos. Or, you can view the slideshow (and click the little "i" for running commentary...it'll be almost like you were there with us). Grandparents, prepare to OD on grandchild Disney magic.
