Cincinnati Christmas Favorites

121907_village.jpg

The girls and I had a great day yesterday visiting some of Cincinnati's Christmas favorites. Our first stop was the Duke Energy 62nd Annual holiday train display. Next we visited the live nativity scene and holiday floral displays at Krohn Conservatory. Our day concluded with a delicious Zips burger, which is not a christmasy place but a Cincinnati standard that has a captivating electric train circling overhead while you eat.

Christmas Party

121407_friends.jpg

We had a few of Naomi's friends, along with their families, over for a Christmas carol party on Friday night. The kids, most of whom were under the age of 6, outnumbered the adults. It was loud and chaotic but fun! More pictures here.

A Day Away

120807_birthday.jpg

Thanks to G & G Rambo, Matt and I were able to spend a day away together for my birthday. We relished the opportunity to be spontaneous. We ate great food... had my first experience with honey fries here. Amazing! Go try them! We were surprised with chocolate cake and champagne in our hotel room (thank you, Susan.) And, we slept in! It was a wonderful day to celebrate being 30.

That's Good GUI

120107_listening.jpg

Naomi loves listening to my new iPod. While the dad in me enjoys watching her dance around with my giant headphones, the geek in me is wowed by how easily this three-year-old navigates the new iPod's user interface. It was absolutely second-nature to her from the moment she picked it up. That's probably indicative of both a major generational difference and really brilliant design. Just watch her in action.
