Here Comes Santa Claus

Because I've been thinking about Christmas ever since we moved into our house this summer, I pushed for getting the decorations out as soon as our thanksgiving turkey digested. And, our mantle was begging for stockings. I love it!

Over Coffee

112007_over_coffee.jpg

Today we went to the Speckled Bird Cafe which, in my opinion, is one of the coolest coffee shops ever...just look at the fish tank. I'm pretty sure the girls were discussing world events (or Polly Pockets) over coffee. And, since it was a seasonably warm morning, they decided to continue their fun outside on the steps of St. Elizabeth, a beautiful, old cathedral right across the street.

Susan & Ethan

My dear friend, Susan, got married this past weekend. She was a beautiful bride and it was such a privilege to be a part of the celebrations. Naomi was a first time flower girl, too. Congratulations Susan & Ethan!

Blue Eyed Girls

Both of our girls have the most beautiful, captivating blue eyes. Eyes that sometimes help them talk their way out of trouble, too. Just look at them... it's hard to say no!

The kids have been saying some of the most amazing things worthy of remembering:

* After picking Nomi up from Kids Club, where they had just learned about praying and listening to God, we asked her if she ever heard God talk to her. "No," she said clearly pondering it. "Maybe He needs to speak a little louder."

* Papa Thomas asked Naomi why she was taking her socks off and she replied, "My feet just need to breathe a little bit."

* Yesterday we were playing and all of the sudden Nomi says, "Mom, I can't do that anymore. I'm running out of energy."

* For context, we try not to let the kids watch a lot of TV. One of the reasons is to not subject them to millions of advertisements. However, some companies are just too smart. We were in line at the grocery store earlier this week and Naomi saw an iTunes gift card and said, "Mom, that is for Daddy's iPod." Unbelievable!!!

* Selah is into placing blame. Clearly guilty, we ask her if she is tooting. She smiles and says, "No. Mama toot. Dada toot. Mimi toot." After we obviously all deny it, she then starts blaming her animals or blanket or whatever else happens to be nearby. It's hilarious.

Treats

This picture is from a costume party last week where I was able to snap a picture of the girls together. We'll post actual halloween pictures soon, although we didn't get many because clearly, it's all about the treats!
