Grocery Store

Matt came up with a little game that Naomi likes to call "Grocery Store." We hide pretend food items in the living room, give Nomi a detailed list for her trip to the store and off she goes with her purse, cell phone and grocery cart to retrieve the items. On this particular trip pictures above, Nomi "found" Selah and thought she should ride in the cart. Both girls squealed with excitement!

Calley ran the big Thanksgiving Day Race this morning, so we bundled up the girls and took them downtown with us. The race was a 10k (that's 6.2 miles for you non-runners, like myself). She did a tremendous job and enjoyed a beautiful (but cold) morning with around 12,000 or so of her fellow runners, most of whom she handily defeated.

Here are her stats. Hooray!

Here are some pictures from the morning.

Now, as tradition dictates, we're off to gorge ourselves and pass out in front of the Cowboys game.

Gobble, Gobble

Naomi and I made turkey cookies today. She was so excited to make these simple treats, but was even more excited to eat them. Here's what you need:

oreo cookies, divided
candy corn
red hots
malted milk balls
chocolate frosting

The History of Money

My friends Neil and Dave created this brief history of money. I think it's just brilliant.

Just Do It

Dance to music and jump in leaves - two things that will instantly lift your spirit and put a smile on your face!

Visitor

Naomi's friend Eve visited for the day on Tuesday. It was a challenge for me to try to entertain three little girls with varying interests. We made homemade playdough (thanks to Kate for the recipe). Nomi loved getting her hands in the stuff, but Eve wanted to play dolls. Then we tried making some music (noise), which Eve was really into, but Nomi wasn't. Finally, I suggested couch jumping... and yep, it was a hit. Even Selah was laughing. It's universal fun for all kids!

That last picture is Matt's favorite. He thinks it resembles this shot, and we don't use any effects.

Fall

There is nothing quite like a pair of jeans, some beads and hanging out in a Radio Flyer wagon on a perfect fall day.

Comic Book Hero

My friend Steve (of SLOTM renown) recently released a fantastic album. If you have iTunes on your computer, you can click here to check it out (and if you don't have iTunes, c'mon, get with the times, here). Anyway, I'm not just hyping this record 'cause he's my friend. It really is a tremendous pop album, start to finish, with intelligent songwriting and great melodic hooks. Trust me on this one...it'll be $10 well spent.

Oh, and for you ol' skool types sans mp3 players, you can order the actual, tangible CD here.
