Miscellany
It's been a couple of weeks with no updates from me, so here are a few...
Desdemona

As Calley mentioned, last weekend was the inaugural Desdemona Music Festival here in Cincinnati. Great bands, great weather, great value ($24 for 3 days!) and great press for the city. I particularly enjoyed Apples in Stereo, We Are Scientists and The Walkmen. And, believe it or not, my friend Ben has a picture of Calley throwing up the Wu at Ghostface Killah's set. Remind me to post that when I've got it on hand. I only took a few pictures (below), but this guy took some great shots of bands at the festival.
48-Hour Film Project
You might remember that I recently participated in a weekend film festival. 48 teams entered the Cincinnati portion of the nationwide contest and were screened in four groups of 12 films. We just found out that our film was selected by audience members as the Audience Choice award-winner in our group. This is a really big honor, as this is one of the more prestigious awards to receive. Several more honors (including one 'best of' winner that will go on to the national contest) will be awarded by a panel of judges on July 14th, so more to come on that (hopefully!)
I found a few of the other teams' films online (these either won Audience Choice or runner-up in their group):
:: Heartfelt by Pro Video Bandits (that's us!) - Audience Choice winner
:: Deck the Wall by The Ironicles - Audience Choice winner
:: An Inconvenient Egg by Bad Kitty - Audience Choice runner-up
:: Spyspace.com by Media Bridges - Audience Choice runner-up
Our New Addition
After months of computer problems and repair work, I'm finally fed up with dealing with PCs (the one we've been using for the past few years froze up twice while I was writing this post). I've been totally converted by my Mac at work and have been wanting to get a Mac for us at home for a long time. So today I finally bit the bullet and ordered the new iMac (hooray!) It's just comforting to know that my little girls will never have to know the frustration of using a Windows computer.

Good Times
We had a busy but fun weekend. More details on that to come including pictures from Desdemona Festival and a birthday pool party. In the meantime, here are a few shots of Nomi in her new pool and Nomi "holding" Selah. She loves to hold her sister now - it's becoming a morning ritual. So sweet!

Wednesday
It's too hot to be outside today and we are a bit stir crazy sitting inside. Maybe that's why Naomi refused to take a nap and instead entertained me with song and dance in her bed. It was pretty cute!

2 Months
I'm a little late on this one, but wanted to give a two-month update on Selah. The doctor says she's perfect and we'd have to agree, except for the small issue of not sleeping at night. It has to get better eventually, right?! She's rolling over (tummy to back), smiling like crazy and always likes being entertained by her big sister. At two months she was 11 pounds, 7 ounces and 23 inches long. I'm confident that those stats have already changed because she eats like a champ.
At Naomi's request, we spent yesterday morning "Down Under" checking out the new Aussie exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo. We spotted koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and an emu. And Nomi had a blast riding the train for the first time! Today after a walk in the hot weather, we changed Naomi into her bathing suit and Matt cooled her down with the garden hose - she thought that was fun, but pretty much just wanted to drink out of it!

Heartfelt
You can check out the short film I described in my last entry here:
:: "Heartfelt" - A Pro Video Bandits Film
Each team drew a film genre at random (ours was "buddy movie"), and then had exactly 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a 4-7 minute film. In addition, there were required elements for each film, regardless of genre. This year, the required elements were:
Character: Pastor Paul (or Paula) Schwarz
Prop: Egg
Line of Dialogue: "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."
What do you think?

Busy Weekend
I just finished the 48 Hour Film Project with an assortment of friends. It was a lot of fun, but we've hardly slept all weekend. I stayed up all night on Friday with two other friends to write the script, only to find out on Saturday that our producer wanted me to play one of the main characters. Shooting went until 3am last night, and we finished our last session at about 3pm today. I think the rest of the team wrapped up editing and post-production by 5:30, so we were actually comfortably ahead of the deadline (which is surprising). We'll likely put the film online somewhere this week, so I'll post a link as soon as I can.
On a separate note, I just added 20 more pictures to Jon & Kori's wedding set.

New Ride
I took the girls for a jog in their new ride yesterday and it was a huge success. Selah loved the motion and fresh air and immediately fell asleep. Naomi loved the company!
And one other event to add to our crazy few weekends was another wedding. We got back from Ashland on Sunday evening, I did a quick change and headed to Beth's reception at Ault Park while Matt watched the girls. It was a beautiful night, a little Miami reunion and a perfect way to end the weekend.

Weekend Photos
We've had all kinds of family fun over the last couple of weekends and no time to post. So here are some links to catch you up:
Here are some photos from Jon & Kori's wedding last weekend. We'll add a bunch more to this set when we get our SLR film developed. For those interested, you can download high-resolution versions of these images or order prints (if you sign up for a free Flickr account).
We were also in Ashland the weekend before last for my brother Jeff's high school graduation (photos from that are to come). But if you want to experience Ashland's Memorial Day parade, click here.
