D'Oh!

I got into an accident (here) on my way home from work this afternoon. I'm okay, and so is the girl who rear-ended me, but I got quite a jolt. Apparently she was following me too closely or just didn't brake in time, but with the rainy conditions here in the 'nasti today, she skidded into me pretty hard. I drove home, but she had to be towed away (hers is the white car with the jacked-up hood). It was her fault and all, but I almost felt worse for her because she cried through the whole ordeal. Sheesh.

Visitors

We have had several visitors over the past few days and Naomi has thoroughly enjoyed entertaining. She's really into showing off her latest tricks and favorite toys.

Left to Right: with Rachel, with Angela, with Jen, with The Massouds.

Left to right: with grandpa Thomas, with great-grandma Mo, with grandma Rambo and great-grandma Mo.

Personalities

I captured images of the girls' current personalities yesterday.

I also caught Naomi attempting to climb out of her crib which I didn't get a picture of but definitely wanted to record the event in her online baby book. It's time to make the transition into her big girl bed...

Signs of Interest

Naomi is showing more interest in Selah. It's fun to watch them begin to interact. This afternoon Naomi laughed and laughed whenever Selah stuck out her tongue.

Alms Park

We took the girls to Alms Park yesterday afternoon. It's a beautiful Cincinnati park and especially significant to us as it's where Matt proposed almost five years ago. Fun memories!

And a few more pictures of Nomi... she's keeping us on our toes these days!!!

One Month!

Wow, the past month has gone really quickly. We took Selah to her one-month doctor appointment yesterday, and everything's great. She's healthy and growing quickly. She's up to 9 pounds, 8 ounces (a 29% increase from her birth weight) and 21.5" long. What an overachiever!

Overall we're doing well. We're adjusting to the juggling - Cal even more so than I am, as she's with the girls all day while I'm at work. Sleep isn't too bad, all things considered, but we're looking forward to Selah being able to sleep for more than a few hours at a time.

Naomi is adjusting well, too. She asks to see her sister in the morning when she wakes up, and although we can't expect them to be playmates or anything yet, at least they're coexisting peacefully. Here's a flashback to Naomi at one month. Time flies - she's a little girl now!

Update: pictures added!

No Cheating

I was talking with a friend last night about listening to our iPods on random, which got me thinking that it would be fun to conduct a little experiment with which our readers at home can play along. Here's the deal: set your iPods on shuffle - do this for your entire library, not just certain genres - and write down the first 10 songs that come up. Here's the catch: you can't edit the list. Yeah, yeah... it might not be totally representative (mine's not - it's just 10 songs randomly selected from thousands), some tracks might be embarrassing 'guilty pleasures,' et cetera. But therein lies the fun. Post a comment below with your list (and all iPod or equivalent MP3 player-owning readers are expected to participate!)

Here's the format in which I've created my list: Song Title [Artist: Album]

01. Recovery [New Buffalo: The Last Beautiful Day]
02. Cocoon [Jack Johnson: On And On]
03. Promises [Lyle Lovett: The Road To Ensenada]
04. Natural Anthem [The Postal Service: Give Up]
05. Them There Eyes [Sarah Vaughan: Jazz Profile: Sarah Vaughan]
06. In This Temple As In The Hearts Of Man... [Sufjan Stevens: Illinois]
07. Private Eyes [Daryl Hall & John Oates: The Very Best Of Daryl Hall & John Oates]
08. Lucifer [Jay-Z: The Black Album]
09. Send It Up [Vertical Horizon: Everything You Want]
10. Empty Cans [The Streets: A Grand Don't Come For Free]
