Thanksgiving '05

It was good to get away for a few days to see family over the holiday.

Naomi enjoyed playing with blocks for the first time and we discovered that she's quite an architectural prodigy. Her first creation is in the background of the second picture below, but it was her second piece that received the most critical acclaim.

It's A Girl! (Again)

Naomi and I took Calley to the doctor for a sonogram this morning. This new baby is a beautiful little girl, and she appears to be healthy and strong. It was amazing to see all those tiny organs functioning and fingers and toes wiggling. Calley is feeling good, too, and everything appears to be right on track. Naomi was excited to see what was happening and the technician gave her a picture from the sonogram. She can point out the baby and already smiles and gives her kisses.

Today was the next level in realism for me. Having gone through this once already, I pretty much knew what to expect to see, but that didn't detract one bit from the wonder of it all. I guess you could say that the shock in seeing a baby on the screen wasn't as great as with Naomi, but every bit of the awe in seeing this new child for the first time remained. I'm very excited to meet our new little girl.

Animal Bench

We are continuing to enjoy these unseasonably warm, fall days - I'd take this weather all year! Naomi loves to be outside too and is always especially proud to show off her very own animal bench.
