14 Months
Naomi is 14 months old today. So much has happened in the past 14 months and yet it seems like it was yesterday that we were at the hospital staring in awe at our new baby and wondering how our life would be different. Well, life continues to keep us on our toes and bring excitement to our days! Naomi changes daily. Lately we call her Taz as she manages to make a mess of absolutely everything. She finds every cabinet, drawer, box, basket or closet and explores until her heart is content. It's amazing what she can do in a matter of minutes.
This weekend we enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. Naomi loves the leaves and tries to pick up each one that falls to the ground. If only she could handle a rake. I relished the few seconds she actually sat on my lap for a couple photos.
Nomi is also excitedly preparing for winter. She loves her new hat and mittens from Grandma & Grandpa C and wears them proudly!

Weekend Update
I hesitate to give an update but I'm going to cross my fingers and say it seems as though Naomi has made a full recovery. She has been back to her energetic, loving, fun self for several days and we are so relieved! We did make a second trip to see the doctor this past week but it was for the first dose of her flu shot. That was not a highlight of her day but thankfully it's behind us. We all are receiving a relatively normal amount of sleep these days - so all is well.
Matt was gracious enough to give me some time off last night after a rather long week. I enjoyed a fun night out at Pho Paris, a trendy French-Vietnamese restaurant in town, with some girlfriends from Miami. It was great to get out and catch up with the girls!

HallZOOween
Grandma & Grandpa Chandler and Uncle Jeff came to visit this weekend. Naomi had fun impressing them with her latest tricks - playing ghost is her favorite. She covers her head with her blanket and walks around the house running into things. Sounds crazy I know but she loves it. Naomi also enjoyed showing Grandma & Grandpa the Cincinnati Zoo and all of her favorite animals.
On a separate and unfortunate note, Naomi is still sick. She masked it pretty well this weekend but it hit hard again last night. I was up literally all night with her. After visiting our "friends" at Northeast Cincinnati Pediatrics again today, Naomi is now on Amoxicillin for an ear infection. This is another first for her and not fun. I hope the antibiotic knocks this out once and for all! This stinks.

Making It
Things are getting a little better around here. Naomi is over croup and onto the next thing...a major head cold that I get to share with her. Matt saved the day a few nights ago by pulling out his guitar. She loves to watch, listen, play and dance.
Naomi also enjoys putting Matt's socks on. When doesn't that make you feel better?

Manny
If you're anything like me, you've probably always wondered what this would look like. Quicktime required.

Croup
We are now in the throws of our third major childhood illness: croup. The past four days have been pretty rocky and her doctor said we probably have a few more ahead. Naomi had a fever that has now turned into sore throat, raspy breathing, hoarse voice and we are to anticipate cough that sounds like a barking seal. We definitely aren't out of the woods yet. It really stinks to feel completely helpless while watching Naomi feel so miserable!
In the meantime, we are simply taking it easy and staying away from other people at the risk of exposing anyone else to this funk. We hope and pray that it passes quickly and she makes a full recovery as soon as possible!
