Spring in Ohio
Last weekend we enjoyed idyllic spring weather. This morning we awoke to snow on the ground. I've lived in Ohio my whole life; this shouldn't surprise me anymore.
Here are a couple of cute pictures of Naomi from this week. I'm now actually making commission on inkjet cartridges sold in the north-central Ohio region - thanks, Mom!

Zoology
Here are some photos from our trip to the zoo this morning. We're fortunate to have a great zoo in Cincinnati, and we're already getting a lot of use out of our family season pass. Cal and Naomi have been there a few times already this spring, and today was my first trip. The weather was beautiful this morning, and the tulips are in bloom for a couple more weeks.

Prom 2005
My brother Jeff and Jessica had fun at Jeff's prom this Saturday. We were in Ashland for the weekend and got to see them off to the dance. I went to only one prom, in 1996, and didn't have fun. Perhaps it was because "Macarena" was topping the charts at the time. The kids today like the 50 Cent. Thankfully my brother has better taste in music.

Spring Cleaning
This week has been so refreshing. Warmer days, crystal blue skies, lots of sunshine and longer daylight hours do wonders to lift my spirits. Naomi and I celebrated today with a little spring cleaning while dad was at work. We raised the blinds, opened the windows, moved furniture and vacuumed. Naomi loves the vacuum. She watches it intently every time I use it. When we were done she played for a good thirty minutes in her crib. I watched from the door smiling from ear to ear and couldn't help snapping a few pictures. She has truly captured my heart!

Change of Scenery
I was out in Salt Lake City earlier this week, just for the day. Having grown up in the midwest, I'm always astounded by the beauty of the mountains. I wonder if people who grow up out west take this scenery for granted?
(Sorry for the somewhat blurry picture - this was just my camera phone)

7 Months
Naomi reached the 7-month mark a few days ago. She's becoming quite independent and very interactive. She sits up well on her own and can entertain herself (but prefers to play with Mom or Dad). She's got a couple of teeth sprouting, and is eating anything she can get in her mouth. Here are a few shots circa seven months.
